About Jonny

JONNY ROUSE (He/Him) is a New York City based performer. Originally from the small town of Canastota, New York, he graduated Cum Laude from of the University at Buffalo and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre.

This past summer, Jonny returned to Beef &. Boards Dinner Theatre to bend and snap alongside Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical! Performances ran through August 25th. Omigod You Guys!

Recently, Jonny had the immense honor to join the inaugural cast of SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical on Norwegian Cruise Line's newest ship, Prima. He originated the role of "Brian" under the guidance of the original creative team, including director Des McAnuff, choreographer Sergio Trujillo, and music director Ron Melrose.

In addition, Jonny has been seen Off Broadway in the new Neo-noir, synth-pop musical Powerline Road, written by Michael Finke and directed by Michael Bello. Favorite credits include: The Little Mermaid (Flotsam), The Wizard of Oz (Tin Man), Parade (Frankie Epps), and Fiddler on the Roof (Mendel).

Jonny is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association (AEA) and is represented by ATB Talent Agency!

Omigod You Guys! Jonny spent this past summer at Harvard Law School in Legally Blonde The Musical! Directed by Elizabeth Payne. He had a totally awesome couple of months bending and snapping with Elle Woods (it works every time!) Find out more here!

Jonny spent the past summer performing at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre in the Duke Ellington musical Sophisticated Ladies, directed and choreographed by Kenney M. Green. He also served as Dance Captain for the production.

Powerline Road is a new Neo-noir, synth-pop musical written by Michael Finke that follows four Florida residents over one day. Jonny recently performed in this ensemble work in the recent Theatre Now New York production directed by Michael Bello.

Jonny was hand selected by original creative team members Des McAnuff, Sergio Trujillo, and Ron Melrose to originate the role of "Brian" in the inaugural cast of SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical on Norwegian Cruise Line. The production featured the original Broadway direction and choreography.
